By the Numbers: Google+ The World
Google’s social networking platform, Google+, is violently growing, gracing the 62 million user milestone just days ago. Estimates have told that number is continuing to grow by thousand new users daily. Paul Allen, founder of Ancestry.com, writes about explanations for the quick growth, “It may be the holidays, the TV commercials, the Android 4 signups, celebrity and brand appeal, or positive word of mouth or a combination of all these factors, but there is no question that the number of new users signing up for Google+ each day has accelerated markedly in the past several weeks.” Though they have yet to beat their week end high of 15 million hits on September 24, they are getting closer and closer, hitting 9.4 million at the end of the week of December 17. Going right along with this growth, the number of usersis predicted to break 100 million toward the close of February, 200 million by the start of August, and then nearly 300 million by the end of this year.
